Nebras’s pedigree is very unique amongst Straight Egyptian stallions here in the US. His sire is Ansata Hejazi, a stallion of distinction and proudly owned by Ajmal Stud in Kuwait. Ansata Hejazi’s sire was the famous Ansata Halim Shah and without question Hejazi’s inherited many of Halim Shahs qualities as a horse and a sire. In Kuwait, Hejazi produced a series of unique and exceptional mares and fillies. Amongst Ansata Hejazi’s most famous sons are: Ansata Murtajiz, Ansata Selman, Ansata Safeer, Ansata Nile Echo, … all great sires in turn.

Nebras Al Rayyan’s mother is the gracious Naama Al Rayyan by Safir, and she is out of Ansata Majesta. Naama is the only full sister to the other great sire in the Middle East, Ashhal Al Rayyan.

Naama’s mother Ansata Majesta was without question one of the most spectacular and winningest Ansata Halim Shah daughters ever lived. She graced the show ring in Qatar several times, never without a win. A top show horse and brood mare. Not many mares produced what Majesta did : Al Johara (mother of world champion filly Johara Al Naif), Ashhal Al Rayyan, Naama Al Rayyan, Al Aangha Al Rayyan (Qatar Int. Champion), …

Nebras’s pedigree includes the blood of Ansata’s two most reputed Dahman Mares : Bukra
and Malikah with a tingle of spice of Katharinenhofs (DR. HJ Nagel) proud and glorious Hanan.

His female line traces back to the Farida Branch of the El Dahma – according to Forbis,
Classic Bloodstock I: Farida of the El Dahma family was a broodmare par excellence…
“The Farida line, and also the Sabah line; crossed with Mansour and Nazeer, produced some of the most beautiful and typey Arabians of the era, uniformly balanced with good legs, magnificent heads and brilliant action.”

Because there are few Ansata Hejazi sons available at public stud in the US, our priority is to offer him to breeders whose desire is to incorporate his outstanding and revered bloodlines into their breeding programs. There is no other stallion with this unique pedigree anywhere in the world. Breeders who have foals by him in Europe have shared their photos and comments about how pleased they are with their foals.  Nebras consistently passes on beautiful type, animated movement, presence and good temperament.

Nebras has produced a number of gorgeous foals in Europe, and he is expecting his first foal in just a few days out of the polish mare *Pustynna Tarcza – imported by Aldebaran Arabians of California. I recently spoke to Gaurav Walia about his journey in selecting a stallion for his mares and Gaurav has kindly agreed to share his story of the search for a stallion for his mares.

“A year ago Aldebaran Arabians embarked on a journey to Katharinenhof Stud, Germany in the pursuit of knowledge and avid beauty. Witnessing the distinctive type founded in Dr. Nagel’s Hanan bloodlines over 35 years of well-orchestrated breeding resonated with our desired foundation objectives of carrying forth a refined style of desert beauty. In the stalls and paddocks of Katharinenhof, uniformity of type and elegant form presented itself; The exotic looks acheived through the infusion of Hanan with Ansata Halim Shah, particularly the stunningly influential lines springing from the great Salaa El Dine and Safir. We began at the source, which lead us to the very purpose of our journey: Cultivating such bloodlines at our program back home in the U.S.
As part of our journey, an hour’s drive from Katherinenhof, we wound our way to the dreamy countryside where Nebras Al Rayyan was located and witnessed his very first German foal crop at Al Qusar Stud. His ancestry is famous: Sired by Ansata Hejazi and out of the full sister to Qatar’s magnificent stallion Ashhal Al Rayyan (Safir x Ansata Majesta). Coming to an entire twelve-months since we set out in pursuit, we are pleased to announce that the first incorporation of this unique heritage is almost upon us – Aldebaran’s elite Polish Aristocrat Mare *Pustynna Tarçza is due this Spring, in foal to the imported Straight Egyptian stallion *Nebras Al Rayyan, himself bound to U.S. soil this April.”

Several top quality mares in the US have been booked to Nebras this season including daughters of Makhsous, Imperial Baarez, The Minstril, etc… covering a diverse group of bloodlines. No doubt the future foals of Nebras will be cherished additions to the most discriminating breeders.
